Dear Friend,
As many celebrate Memorial Day with barbeques and family fun because of your faithful partnership New Life Evangelistic Center will be celebrating Memorial Day by directly assisting the

homeless veterans at 806 N. Jefferson in Springfield. Because of your prayers and generosity in the past, these men and women who have served in the military to guarantee our freedom, are being given the faith, hope, and love they need.

Kyle, Justin and Warren are just three of the growing numbers of homeless individuals who are being set free from the cycle of homelessness as they utilize the services at 806 N. Jefferson. Justin

says, “I thank God for the assistance of the New Life VCHC! Rather than living from shelter to shelter, I

now have a roof over my head and a valuable trade under my belt!”

Now we must receive $3,900 immediately to keep the lights on at the New Life Veterans Coming Home Center. This center is assisting veterans like Terry every day. He says, “I served our country in the US Navy. I rescued my fellow soldiers who were shot down by enemy fire. This was indeed a dangerous mission! My life and the lives of our soldiers were on the line! I was injured and suffered a traumatic brain injury which scrambled my brain and my life. I was unable to keep a job. Unable to keep a place. I wound up on the streets. Alone and homeless. The New Life VCHC gives me a place where I can pursue different options to re-establish my life. I know when I was alone, in darkness, blind and could not see – Jesus never left me! He never abandoned me! He rescues me every day!”

With your prayers and help we can keep the lights on at the New Life Veterans Coming Home Center for veterans like Terry and Jennifer who come to the center daily. Please prayerfully consider sharing a gift of $130 to sponsor one day of utilities, for assistance to 150-250 homeless individuals daily.

Jennifer is another homeless individual who served in the military. She receives help daily at the New Life Evangelistic Center Veterans Coming Home Center in Springfield, Missouri. Jennifer, in addition to being homeless, also has cancer. Because of caring people like you, New Life is able to provide her a place to rest, meet her counselors, get clean clothing and other direct assistance.

“Remembering Homeless Veterans on Memorial Day”

This year on Memorial Day we are especially remembering two veterans who are no longer with us on the front lines. These two are Scott Egan and Mike Speaks.

Scott became a staff member at New Life Evangelistic Center and helped many other homeless veterans. He died in July 2020 due to complications from agent orange Scott was exposed to while on active duty in Vietnam.

Mike, after coming to NLEC as a homeless man, progressed until he was directing the New Life farm in New Bloomfield. He passed away last September because of COVID-19. Daily both of these previously homeless men were helping other veterans to discover a future with Jesus.

One of those veterans who is helped daily is Ernest. He served in the military in Iraq. Ernest, who is now blind from glaucoma says, “I am so thankful to have the New Life Veterans Coming Home Center staff praying and helping me in my time of need.”

Now your help is urgently needed so that we may share the word of God, clothing, counseling, job placement, food, showers, and other services that are provided for the veterans daily in Springfield. In order to do this, we need you to share your Memorial Day gift now to pay the Springfield City Utility Bill for 806 N. Jefferson.

Andrew, who depends upon the Veterans Coming Home Center and caring people like you says, “I was in the US Navy for 20 years. Got a good education. I am still suffering from PTSD. I am trying to get my life together. I use the New Life VCHC’s phones and computers to help me.”

The New Life Veterans Center is there each and every day helping Veterans like Freddy. Now they need your help. Freddy says, “I am an ex-marine. I got an honorable discharge. I America has a lot of problems. I think it is because we have lost Christ in our hearts. I appreciate all the New Life VCHC gives us like a place to nap, clean clothes, meals, and the Word of God. I am battling some legal obstacles, but I believe Jesus will set my feet back on solid ground so I can live life again in full.”

Please share now your Memorial Day gift so New Life Evangelistic Center can continue helping homeless veterans in their times of need. Your gift of $130, $65, $250, $520 or more will keep the lights and love of Christ shining brightly at 806 N. Jefferson in Springfield.
Yours in Christ,

Chris Rice
