Jesus Saved My Life

My mom shot and killed herself in 1972 when I was 12 years old. Since then, six more people in my family have committed suicide. I tried to kill myself, but Jesus saved my life!

When I was 14 years old, I was raped by a child molester. I ran away from the reform school. The court sent me there for stealing a car to run away from a home that the court sent me to.

My Dad had a tobacco farm, a country store, and a pool room bar. My Dad raised me. It was just Dad and me. I had no brothers or sisters. We had money, and I got on the wrong road, drinking and smoking. Dad and I both were stoned going to church after Mom killed herself. That is the reason I became an alcoholic, and lost sinner, and a habitual felon. That was when all my trouble started, when I stopped going to church.

Many Christians tried to talk to me and help me, but I was so lost and wildly lost in sin. I was trying to be cool, but I was only a fool. Yes, it is sad that many did the same things I did. Many of them went to the graveyard. I know many got out of prison and did not make it back like me. Jesus did not save their life. They did not get another chance. But Jesus saved my life many times and gave me many chances. We don’t understand a lot in this life and crazy world, but praise God, we are saved and free at last. I praise Jesus for His love, mercy, grace, and all blessings, Amen and amen.
